Digital Conference on Gender Equality in European Culture 

as part of the EU Council Presidency by the German Cultural Council

 

This session will use the EU Council’s conclusions about “gender equality in culture” that were adopted on December 1st, to continue discussing the topic within the international professional public – through panels & workshops. Particularly, individuals will be included who work towards implementing measures for greater gender equality in cultural and civic institutions. The session aims to reflect a broad spectrum of initiatives and projects from EU Member States across various artistic genres.

In the panels & workshop, there will be, amongst others:

Prof. Monika Grütters MdB, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media; Graça Fonseca, Minister of Culture, Portugal; Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for IRCE&Y; Prof. Dr. Susanne Keuchel, President of the German Arts Council; Renate Punka, Managing Director at Janis Roze Publishers, President of Latvian Publishers Association;Anna Serner, CEO of the Swedish Film Institute; Prof. Helmut Anheier, PhD, past President Hertie School of Governance; Carlien Scheele, Director of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), Nina George, President of the European Writers’ Council.

 

The conference is primarily in German with English subtitles – or vice versa.

Those who want to participate live and join the discussion in one of the 3 workshops (1:30 pm – 2:45 pm) have to register with the same link.

Note: you may choose one workshop, however, the number of active participants is limited.
