EWC Board Member Eystein Hanssen is a crime novelist, published in his native Norway as well as Germany and Sweden, with nine books to his conscience. He is one of the co-founders of the Norwegian Society of Authors, where he also holds the chair position. Hanssen has a particular interest in author’s rights management and digital formats such as audio books.
He is a firm believer in vital organizations, and the need for all writers, of all genres, to stand together: “Free speech and copyright are under constant attack. Authors need to meet these challenges together”.
Hanssen is educated in film and media, and he holds an MBA. He is an experienced journalist for both television and text media, a seasoned negotiator, fund raiser and cultural lobbyist. His motivation for joining the EWC board: “Ít is the best tool to work for a unified approach to authors’ challenges in Europe”.
